Maryam was born to two doctors - an orthopeadic surgeon father and a pathologist mother - and from a young age, she was immersed in the world of medicine. Both parents hoped she would follow in their footsteps, and she began medical school with that expectation in mind. The first two years were challenging and not particularly enjoyable, but her journey would take a decisive turn when a volunteer experience abroad reignited her passion for medicine & surgery.

While fundraising and volunteering with Operation Smile in Thailand, Maryam witnessed how relatively small, precise procedures could transform the lives of children born with cleft conditions. Seeing the real-world impact of her medical knowledge for the first time gave her clarity and purpose. She wanted to be in a subspecialty, to be an expert in one area, to help transform the lives of those she treated.

While completing her medical education in the US, Maryam discovered her calling in Oculoplastic Surgery - a specialty that combines meticulous medical precision with aesthetic artistry. She completed two fellowships and became US board-certified, developing expertise in both reconstructive and aesthetic procedures. After moving to London, she continued her fellowship training in oculoplastic surgery and completed a dermatology certificate in Cardiff. In 2012, she established her own practice in the heart of Chelsea, where she blends surgical mastery, dermatological knowledge, and a refined eye for natural beauty.

Alongside her medical path, Maryam’s love for skincare was a constant in her life. At 14, her mother gave her a tinted BB cream, and she began developing a daily ritual that offered calm and comfort. Unknowing to her then, she used skincare as form of self care and active meditation. That early fascination grew into a deep understanding of skin health - its physiology, its needs, and the joy of using products that feel as good as they perform. Later, personal experiences like post-pregnancy melasma reinforced the importance of combining efficacy with ritual, shaping her approach to every formula she develops.
